My StumbleUpon – searcher of interesting websites recommended me the site “Backpack Europe on Budget”. The website contains lots of information like how to save your money, itineraries, how and what to pack, transport in Europe and so on. Definitely it will come in handy when you will plan a low-budget trip through Europe.

What can you learn in travel

Today, only a brief reference to Article “29 of the interesting lessons learned in life traveling the world for 8 years straight” by Benny Lewis.

Searching & Keywords

To find relevant information on the Internet it will be the basic human competency in near future. How to do it? You need to input a right keyword(s) the get results quickly. Because our blog provide you information on travelling we have prepared the set of useful keyword (except other information channels). Now we are working with two interesting words - Travel Hacks. Try it and you will be wondered - search engines will offer very useful and ramarkable pages.

Vagabonding

Today we would like to point out the book Vaganbonding written by Rolf Potts. This book provide information and inspiration how to travel the world.

Also the web pages Rolf Potts' Vagabonding are very useful. You can find blog, reviews of book and for me the section Resources is very important. It contains a huge number of various link connected with travelling.

The term "vagabonding" is in the book explained as the act of leaving behind the orderly world to travel independently for an extended period of time.

 

Trick of some European airports

If you plan to travel to Europe, look out for the tricks of airports. First of all for names of airports. For example low-cost airlines use the small airport that are quite far from your destination. For example the second Munich airport is in the city of Memmingen, third Milano airport is in Bergamo or airport Brussels South is in Charleroi. Very from Frankfurt there is the airport Frankfurt Hahn. These airports could be cheap but it is quite complicated to find a transport.

It is the second problem. If you need to go from or to an airport, try to find some local transport and not special shuttle or train. It is necessary to go through web pages and timetables of local transport providers.  

How to Get the Cheapest Flights

For today we have prepared some advices how to buy the cheapest flight tickets:

• Book early or in the last hours.
• Find the suitable destination not only for particular dates but also for the whole month (kayak, skyscanner).
• Try to compare the offer of the biggest flight dealers - orbitz.com, priceline.com, skyscanner or expedia.com.
• Search tickets for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Saturday (the best time is after midnight on Tuesdays).
• Chech over night flights or flight in low season.
• Try also two or more one-way tickets instead of return ticket.
• Sometimes is cheaper to return to adjacent city or region.
• When you have recommended flights by some booking engine, check also airline websites.
• Also it is useful to follow airlines and dealers news or RSS channels.

King's Tour

During last weekend I visited Austrian region Salzburgerland and skicentre Hoch König. Great skiing and wonderful trail Königstour – 32 km from Mühlbach to Maria Alm and back. You can go over five tops with gorgeous views of Hoch König massive. Look at You Tube video or web page Ski Amade.

The web application Prezi enables to create very interesting (so-called non-linear) presentations. As well it contains the archive. If you input to box Explore the terms "travel" or "travelling", you can go through nice presentations and find some inspiration. Travel Twitter Best Of

For today we have prepared the other best of list. It is focused on Twitter and information about travelling. Which tweeters are recommended to follow? They need to be divided into two groups:

• Twitters of private persons such as Peter Greenberg, Grant Martin, Kathy McCabe, George Hobica or Ben Mutzabaugh (mostly of mentioned twitters are oriented to flying)
• Twitters of companies (e.g. Expedia, Orbitz, Frommer's or Guardian Travel)

The Cheapest Countries

We went through ten articles focused on the cheapest countries for travelling. There were mentioned 35 countries. The following list show the countries cited the most frequently: Bulgaria, India and Indonesia (3 times); Egypt, Nepal, Vietnam, Thailand, Philipphines, Paraguay and Croatia. The southeast Asia is the most cheapest region.

Diseases (1) - Malaria

Diseases are unfortunately common associates on the road. Our series want to introduce the most common diseases. Today we start with malaria (or marsh fewer).

Symptoms: Fever and flu-like illness, including shaking chills, headache, muscle aches, and tiredness. Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea may also occur. Malaria may cause anaemia and jaundice (yellow colouring of the skin and eyes). Infection may cause kidney failure, seizures, mental confusion, coma, and death. For most people, symptoms begin 10 days to 4 weeks after infection, although a person may feel ill as early as 8 days or up to 1 year later.

Risk: Female mosquitoes of the Anopheles genus are the primary hosts of the parasites of the genus Plasmodium.

Occurrence: Tropical and subtropical regions, including much of Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, and the Americas. See the CDC Malaria Map Application.

Help: You cannot be vaccinated against malaria. You can take anti-malaria tablets (e.g. Malarone). Read The ABCD of Malaria Treatment.

Presentations represent the very comfortable a engaging way of information distribution and aggregation. Where to find out some any presentations about travelling? You can try common search engines (Google, Bing, Yahoo) or test specific applications focused on sharing of presentations.

For example Slideshare offers presentations Travel 2.0 or Travel and Social media.

The other similar system Scribd publishes also interesting presentations - Vietnam Travel Adventures (for 5 USD) or Sierra Nevada Travel Guide (for 5 USD).

Hôtel Petit Belloy St Germain

Straddling the border between the Latin Quarter and St-Germain-des-Prés, this classic boutique hotel is right next to Luxembourg Gardens, the Cluny Medieval Museum and the Odéon Theatre. The RER B to the airports is a block away, and both Notre Dame and the Louvre are less than 15 minutes on foot. Hôtel du Cadran

Located just off the popular rue Cler, between the Eiffel Tower and Les Invalides, this modern boutique hotel with a contemporary pastry shop in the lobby stands out in a neighbourhood often known for its rather frumpy accommodation. Hôtel La Manufacture

Don't let the "13th arrondissement" scare you away from this contemporary little budget hotel well-located in a lively residential district close to the Butte aux Cailles, with its village-like atmosphere, Mouffetard market street, Jardin des Plantes and Chinatown. Conveniences include three metro lines, four bus lines and several cinemas, cafés and bakeries, as well as a decent shopping mall just across the square. Rooms are basic but bright, with art deco-inspired décor and air conditioning. Some have little balconies. Le Fabe Hôtel

A fresh-faced little boutique hotel deep in the Left Bank, each room at Le Fabe has a different theme, mixing contemporary fabrics with Louis XVI chairs, Plexiglass tables, blown-up photographs and textured bathroom tiles. It's great for those who want easy access to Orly Airport, Montparnasse train station, or the Porte de Versailles – Paris Expo exhibition centre, but to reach the central Paris sites, you'll need to embrace public transportation (Métro line 13 is a few minutes' walk). As a bonus, the predominantly residential neighbourhood is full of affordable little cafes and shops.

La Maison Montparnasse

In the same neighbourhood as Le Fabe, this family-run hotel goes for a brighter colour palette of bright fuchsia, orange, yellow and plum, offset by fluffy white bedding and white tiled bathrooms (shell out for the larger room if you need a spacious bathroom). There's no air conditioning, but the ground-level breakfast room and small patio garden are a nice change from the dark "caves" found in many budget hotels. Montparnasse cemetery, the Catacombs, and the locals' shopping street, rue Daguerre, are an easy stroll from the hotel. Otherwise, the Métro station (line 13) is just two blocks away.
